Portraits of Monday strength & movement class

This month, I want to take a moment to celebrate and shine a light on my group classes, starting with:

The Monday Group

This group (pictured above) meets online on Mondays at 12 p.m. via Zoom. What I would particularly like to celebrate is the consistency this group shows in showing up and attending regularly, week after week. Even if they are not physically training together, there is a feeling of being in it together. This is helped by everyone being able to see each other on the screen.

The Wednesday Group

This group (pictured above) meets on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. in the Vondelpark. This group is celebrated for the community it has created and for showing up, whatever the weather. Too hot, too cold, too wet. They are there!

Personal training clients

My personal training clients are also showing up week after week. There are many different reasons for training. Although you hear a lot about runners and triathletes meeting their goals, I also have clients who are rowers and dancers. There are also some women doing post-natal training while looking after their young babies and toddlers. Others are training for their health. All their achievements and their consistency make me proud.  We were supposed to have a big collage of them, but I kept forgetting to take photos during sessions. We were always too focused! But here are some of their photos:

My own celebrations

I’m not so good at celebrating my own wins publicly. As well as having all these clients achieve great things, I have also had another good year with the business. It is a business that can be a bit up and down, but I am seeing the ups and downs flattening a bit more and being more consistent.

From a personal point of view, and also a sporty one, I feel like I ended my triathlon season on a good note. Last year I was battling an achilles injury and as the summer went on I was able to get my running back more to where it was before.
