Every year in the week leading up to Christmas, I do a fun workout for my group classes called “12 Exercises of Christmas”
Basically, you use the song “The twelve days of Christmas”, do you know it? If not here is someone singing it better than I could 😉
To summarise, the first few lines go:
🎶 On the first day of Christmas My true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree.
On the second day of Christmas My true love gave to me, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the third day of Christmas My true love gave to me, three French hens, two turtle doves And a partridge in a pear tree.🎶
You get the idea.
Be sure to warm up before you start. Where necessary, I have different levels of these exercises explained in the video, so don’t worry if you can’t jump, for example.
> I have added a video with each exercise so it is easy for you to follow.
So, how do you write a Christmas workout based on this song?
What you do is change the gifts given with exercises. This means you pick an exercise and do one repetition, then you pick another exercise, do 2 repetitions and then go back to the first exercise and do one repetition.
Then a new exercise for 3 repetitions, and go back and two repetitions of the second exercise and one of the first.
->Don’t worry if this doesn’t make sense, keep reading, and there will be a workout below.
I have used the above format every year but with a different set of exercises each time. I did a special newsletter workout last year, it included a few silly exercises for the whole family. You can read it here.
If you want to join us for a similar workout to this, you can join for a FREE online or live class the week beginning on the 18th of December 2023 by using the link below:
Let me know what you thought of there joyful exercises, I am curious to hear from you.
